Memorials for Trio Killed at UAH Begin Today

By Associated Press

Huntsville, AL – Memorial services are beginning for the three people killed in last week's shooting at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

A private funeral was scheduled Thursday for G.K. Podila, the chairman of the Biology Department at the school.

A memorial service also is set for faculty members Adreil Johnson and Maria Ragland. It will be held on campus and sponsored by the Council for African American Faculty, which the two helped found at the school.

Funerals will be held Friday and Saturday for Johnson and Ragland.

The three were killed in a shooting that injured three others inside a classroom building at UAHuntsville. Professor Amy Bishop is being held without bond on charges of capital murder and attempted murder.
