McGregor Lawyers Respond to VictoryLand Suit

By Associated Press

Shorter, AL – Attorneys for VictoryLand owner Milton McGregor say a lawsuit alleging rigged gambling machines at the casino in Shorter is ridiculous.

VictoryLand attorneys John Bolton and Mark White said they expect not only to win the case, they will also seek damages against those who filed the suit.

The suit claims the machines have been set up to return millions of dollars to McGregor and the machine owners at the expense of customers and charities that are supposed to receive a cut of the money that goes through VictoryLand.

The suit was filed in federal court by the same lawyer who previously sued in state court alleging that McGregor rigged machines at VictoryLand to pay former Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford $1.6 million in bribes.
