Vance, AL – Fourteen maintenance workers at the Mercedes-Benz assembly plant in Vance have sued the automaker over a claim they were forced to work during lunch breaks without pay.
Attorneys for the hourly workers filed the suit this week on behalf of at least 150 workers at the plant in Vance.
The workers claim the unpaid overtime came during regularly or irregularly scheduled lunch breaks.
The lawsuit says the workers seek back pay with interest, attorney and court fees. They also want a jury to decide the case.
Company spokeswoman Felyicia Jerald says Mercedes-Benz does not comment on pending litigation.
