Tuscaloosa AL – Efforts to fight the giant oil slick floating in the Gulf of Mexico are operating at full tilt, but haven't been enough to completely protect coastal areas of Louisiana and Mississippi. Alabama's coast have so far remained unaffected environmentally, but there has been economic damage.
