Gov Riley Says Obama, BP Doing Well On Spill Response

Mobile, AL – Alabama's Republican governor is giving the Obama White House and BP good grades on their response to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Speaking Monday in Mobile, Gov. Bob Riley said the state has gotten everything it needs to cope with the spill. He says that's the best way he has to judge either President Obama's administration or the petroleum company, and both are doing well so far.

Riley spoke with reporters after taking a helicopter tour of part of Alabama's coast. He says there's only so much barrier material to go around, but so far there's enough of the booms to protect beaches and estuaries.

Riley said work to protect the state's coast will continue indefinitely.
