1 Killed, 8 Injured in Tuscaloosa Graduation Party Shooting

By Alabama Public Radio

Tuscaloosa AL – At least eight were injured and one person killed early Sunday morning in a shooting at a Tuscaloosa County apartment complex. A group of Hillcrest high school students and their friends were hosting a graduation party at the clubhouse of The Links apartments. Witnesses say suddenly the lights went out and someone started shooting. A 17-year old male was shot multiple times and died at the scene. Eight others were also injured. Most of them were teenagers. The shooting followed an altercation that occurred earlier in the night. One of those involved in the altercation, a 20-year-old male, is the main suspect in the shooting. He was arrested at his house without incident. Charges are still pending.
