Former Ala. Senator Endorses Moore

By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – Former U.S. senator Jeremiah Denton has endorsed former state Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore for governor.

Denton, who represented Alabama in the Senate from 1981 to 1987, says Moore is the best candidate to protect America's heritage and its image of "One Nation Under God."

Denton was a Navy fighter pilot whose plane was shot down during the Vietnam War. He spent eight years in captivity. He later went into politics.

Moore is one of seven Republicans in the GOP primary for governor on June 1.
