Montgomery, AL – Alabama Supreme Court Justice Tom Parker has lost his legal effort to bump one of his opponents from Tuesday's Republican primary ballot.
Parker filed a suit contending votes for Birmingham attorney Eric Johnston shouldn't be counted because Johnston didn't file his financial disclosure statement on time. A specially appointed state Supreme Court ruled Friday that the courts don't have jurisdiction in the matter.
The court said Parker could have filed a challenge with the Republican Party, but he didn't.
Parker also faces Tallassee attorney James Houts in Tuesday's primary.
