UA Trustees To Vote On Double-Digit Tuition Hikes

Tuscaloosa, AL – Trustees for the University of Alabama System are to consider raising tuition by double-digit amounts at each of its three campuses.

The largest proposed tuition and mandatory fee increase is about 15 percent for Alabama residents attending the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Tuition for Alabama residents at UAB would go up nearly 14 percent, and at the Capstone it would go up nearly 13 percent.

The amounts are based on 15 semester hours.

The trustees' finance committee will hear the request Friday in Tuscaloosa. The Board of Trustees will vote on it later that day.
