Montgomery, AL – Robert Bentley is declaring victory in his hometown of Tuscaloosa.
The re-count from the Republican primary for governor confirms his second-place finish by more than 200 votes over Tim James. Bentley will face first-place finisher Bradley Byrne in the runoff on July 13.
Bentley told supporters in Tuscaloosa that the re-count is a victory for all those willing to join him in fighting the federal government, cleaning up Montgomery and putting Alabamians back to work.
James has gone to the beach with his family for the Father's Day weekend and will make a statement Monday. Bentley is planning a statewide tour Monday.
