Ala. Task Force Seizes Greenetrack Bingo Machines

Montgomery, AL – The governor's gambling task force has seized more than 800 electronic bingo machines at the Greenetrack casino after an Alabama Supreme Court ruling cleared the way for state police to act.

But a judge in Greene County later Tuesday ordered the machines returned, prompting the task force to go back to the Supreme Court.

Task Force Commander John Tyson says one person was arrested for interfering with the law officers work at Greenetrack. But he says Alabama Public Safety Director Christopher Murphy is keeping the situation peaceful.

The Tuscaloosa News reports that some in the crowd have heckled the troopers and are upset over the closing of a major employer in the poor, rural county.
