Montgomery, AL – Alabama Attorney General Troy King is planning to have his say about BP's decision not to begin making payments on the $148 million claim filed by Gov. Bob Riley for lost tax revenue.
King has scheduled a news conference at 10 a.m. Friday in Montgomery.
BP officials say the lawsuit that King filed against the company over the Gulf oil spill was part of their reason for not beginning payments. Riley cited the lawsuit Thursday when he increased budget cuts for education by 2 percent. That brings the total cuts to 9.5 percent.
