Gubernatorial Candidates Hit Road for Last Day of Campaign

By Associated Press

Birmingham, AL – Republican Robert Bentley and Democrat Ron Sparks are flying from one end of the state to the other in search of votes on the final day of campaigning in the Alabama governor's race.

The two candidates are holding airport news conferences Monday to try to turn over votes for Tuesday's election. Their travel plans are scheduled to overlap. The two are supposed to be at the Birmingham airport 15 minutes apart. Both will end their tours with late afternoon appearances in Montgomery.

Alabama's voting places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
