Tuscaloosa, AL – Thirteen World War II veterans will be honored at half time tomorrow (11-13-10) during the Alabama-Mississippi State football game in Tuscaloosa. Besides their military service these men also share another common bond, they all played for the Crimson Tide. Author Delbert Reed chronicles the tales of 60 such soldier-athletes in his new book When Winning Was Everything. Alabama Public Radio's Ryan Vasquez recently spoke with Reed about how the project came to be.
