Ala.-Huntsville Victims' Families File Lawsuits

Huntsville, AL – Attorneys representing families of the victims of a shooting outbreak at the University of Alabama-Huntsville say they've filed wrongful death lawsuits.

The suits seek to hold the university's provost responsible for the failure to abide by life-safety regulations that would have prevented the shootings at a staff meeting last year.

Biology professor Amy Bishop faces capital murder charges in the shootings. Six colleagues were wounded, three fatally.

The families of Maria Ragland Davis and Adriel D. Johnson Sr., both of whom were killed, brought the lawsuits.

Bishop and her husband, James Anderson, also are defendants in the lawsuit.
