New Ala. Governor Warns Federal Government

Montgomery, AL – Robert Bentley began his term as Alabama's governor with a warning to the federal government. He says he will work with the federal government when he can, but it won't dictate Alabama's every move.

The new governor used his inaugural address Monday to remind people about his campaign promise to work without pay until Alabama's high unemployment rate returns to normal.

Bentley says he will work on job creation everyday, and so will all state workers. One way he proposes to do that is by giving existing businesses the same tax break that new industries get when they create jobs.

Bentley says he will be a servant leader and is urging all state officials to remember that they work for the people of Alabama.
