Ala. AG Wants Bingo Machines Out Of Indian Casinos

Montgomery, AL – Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange has written a letter to the National Indian Gaming Commission asking that electronic bingo machines be banned from Indian-operated casinos in Alabama.

In his letter dated Friday, Strange said the electronic bingo machines are not allowed under Alabama law and that state non-Indian casinos offering the games have closed.

Strange said in the letter that electronic bingo machines are ``patently illegal'' under Alabama law.

A spokeswoman for Gov. Robert Bentley, Rebekah Mason, told The Birmingham News the governor supports Strange's efforts on gambling.
