State Sanctioned Boxing Returns To Alabama

Tuscaloosa, AL – Alabama is known for college football and minor league baseball. But the sport of boxing once had a place in the state's history and it may again. Alabama's first state sanctioned boxing matches in nearly forty years takes place in Tuscaloosa this weekend. While the state has a long and rich pugilistic tradition, this era's boxers have had to go elsewhere to build their careers. Alabama Public Radio's Ryan Vasquez has more on the importance of home state advantage for a boxer.
