Budget Shortfall Could Pose Threat To State Agencies

Tuscaloosa, AL – Alabama's state legislative session gets underway today and the financial outlook is expected to be grim. The General Budget is projected to be short by a half billion dollars, and Alabama no longer has federal stimulus money to fall back on. Governor Bentley is cutting the Education Budget by three percent, and more cuts may be coming. Alabama Public Radio's Maggie Martin reports on one state agency that's already felt the sting.
