Montgomery, AL – A federal judge has denied a request by several defendants in Alabama's gambling corruption probe to have separate trials.
The ruling late Wednesday from U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson means the 10 defendants will be tried together in June.
Casino owner Milton McGregor, state Sens. Harri Ann Smith and Quinton Ross, former Sen. Larry Means, lobbyist Bob Geddie and casino spokesman Jay Walker had sought separate trials. The judge ruled that trying the 10 defendants together will not be prejudicial.
