Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Bureau of Investigation has a new chief.
State Public Safety Director Hugh McCall announced that Neil Tew has been named chief. He was previously acting chief of the Alabama Highway Patrol. McCall said Tew's appointment also includes a promotion to major.
Tew has been with the Department of Public Safety nearly 22 years. The Eufaula native is a graduate of Jacksonville State University and Jones School of Law at Faulkner University.
