Montgomery, AL – A casino lobbyist who pleaded guilty to bribery says VictoryLand casino owner Milton McGregor was an active participant in offering bribes to a state senator.
Country Crossing lobbyist Jarrod Massey testified in Alabama's gambling corruption trial Monday that McGregor participated in a meeting in February 2010 where bribes were offered to state Sen. Scott Beason. Beason was helping the FBI and wore a recording device during the meeting.
McGregor's lawyers have said the bribery was done by Massey and his boss, Ronnie Gilley, both of whom have pleaded guilty. But Massey testified that McGregor was clearly participating in the illegal activity going on during that meeting.
Monday is Massey's eighth day on the witness stand.
