Birmingham, AL – The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a frost advisory for large parts of Alabama.
The weather service said in a statement that the frost advisory will be in effect from 2 a.m. until 9 a.m. Friday.
Forecasters say temperatures are expected to plunge to 33 to 36 degrees in parts of the state.
The frost advisory covers Birmingham and Montgomery, as well as several other Alabama cities. They include Gadsden, Tuscaloosa, Anniston, Clanton and Demopolis.
The frost advisory means that frost is possible, and sensitive outdoor plants might be killed if left uncovered.
Temperatures are expected to rebound by Sunday, when highs in the Birmingham area are expected to reach the lower 70s.
