Montgomery, AL – Former state Rep. Terry Spicer of Elba has worked out an agreement with federal prosecutors to plead guilty in Alabama's gambling corruption investigation.
Documents filed in federal court in Montgomery show Spicer has been charged with bribery and is scheduled to enter his plea Nov. 15 in Montgomery. The documents say he agreed to accept cash, campaign services and a ski vacation from lobbyist Jarrod Massey and campaign contributions and concert tickets from casino owner Ronnie Gilley, who have both pleaded guilty in the gambling investigation.
Spicer declined comment Friday. He lost his re-election bid last year and has been serving as school superintendent in Elba since then.
