Montgomery, AL – Alabama's attorney general plans to post guidance and information about Alabama's new immigration law on his website.
Attorney General Luther Strange said Friday state law prohibits him from issuing formal opinions on specific questions about the law because it is under litigation. But he said he will use his website to develop guidance based, in part, on positions taken in court. Strange said the guidance is intended to assist state and local agencies with their interpretation and enforcement of the law.
The attorney general's website already features a copy of the law and information about which sections are in effect and which have been placed on hold by the courts.
