Tuscaloosa, AL – Tuscaloosa city officials are planning a community memorial service on April 27, the one-year anniversary of the tornado that struck the city.
The event is planned for 5 p.m. at Government Plaza.
Officials say the service is intended to honor the lives lost in the storm and pay tribute to ``all of those who gave their time, talents and treasure.'' City officials also plan a ``week of remembrance'' with other community-sponsored events.
Officials said more information regarding the community memorial service, as well as a list of scheduled activities, would be released later.
More than 50 people died in Tuscaloosa County after the tornado.
