If you grew up in the late 70s and early 80s, you remember Atari well

RACHEL MARTIN, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Rachel Martin. If you grew up in the late '70s and early '80s, Atari was the gaming console. All the cool kids had one. There was just one joystick and a button as a controller. You could play cutting-edge games like "Space Invaders," "Donkey Kong" and, of course, "Pac-Man."

(SOUNDBITE OF PAC-MAN ORIGINAL THEME)

MARTIN: Lego is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Atari with a replica of the 2600 you can build yourself. The set goes on sale next month for 240 bucks. Those sweet Atari memories? Totally free. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
