MICHEL MARTIN, HOST:
And now, a brief programming note. April is almost here and we are hoping it will spark showers of creativity. To remind you, last year, we decided to commemorate National Poetry Month by combining two of our passions, poetry and social media. We called it our Muses and Metaphors series and we had so much fun, we decided to do it again and, of course, we need your help.
If you are poetically inclined, please go to Twitter and tweet us your original poetry using fewer than 140 characters and the hash tag #TMMPoetry. To learn more, go to NPR.org, select TELL ME MORE from the program page and read about it on our blog.

MARTIN: Just ahead, Margaret Sanger wanted an escape from a hard life and a crowded family of 11 children, so she trained as a nurse and soon found the cause of her life.
JEAN BAKER: Sanger was a believer that no woman was free who did not control her body.
MARTIN: Margaret Sanger is the latest subject in our Women's History Month series digging into biographies of notable women. That's in just a few minutes on TELL ME MORE from NPR News. I'm Michel Martin.

MARTIN: This weekend, there will be an unusual gathering on the National Mall, a gathering intended to unify secular people from across the country and get rid of negative stereotypes, a secular coming out, if you will. They're calling it the Reason Rally and we'll tell you more about it next time on TELL ME MORE.
