MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Meteorologists say a weakening storm moving through the Gulf Coast is expected to pelt some areas of Alabama with between 1 and 2 inches of rain. National Weather Service Forecasters say the storm is expected to move through coastal Alabama Sunday ahead of an approaching cold front. Meteorologists say the heavy rain could prompt minor flooding in some low lying areas. Intermittent heavy rains moved across the Alabama coast on Sunday morning and winds were brisk, but the weather wasn't bad enough to keep tourists off the beach. Authorities say dangerous rip currents are still present, and double red flags are flying along the beach to indicate that no one should enter the water.
