A Soggy Saturday for much of Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Forecasters say heavy rains could bring flooding to south and central Alabama this weekend. The National Weather Service says there's a 100 percent chance of rain in southwest Alabama on Saturday, and as much as 3 inches could fall through early Sunday. Heavy rains are supposed to extend into central Alabama, and forecasters say flooding could occur throughout the area. Rains will spread into the Tennessee Valley region during the day. Wintry precipitation won't be a problem since temperatures are predicted to stay above freezing. But the forecast says temperatures will be colder Monday, bringing a chance of snow flurries in north Alabama.
