The Alabama Public Radio news team and other APR staff members joined listeners in “hoisting a beer” in honor of local public broadcasting during this weekend’s “Putting The Pub in Public Radio” fundraising event at Druid City Brewery in Tuscaloosa. The gathering gave APR supporters the chance to mingle with the APR crew, including news director Pat Duggins, assistant news director Stan Ingold, “Morning Edition” host Alex Aubuchon, and “All Things Considered” host MacKenzie Bates (not pictured.) Druid City hosted the first inaugural “Pub” event in Tuscaloosa last year. A similar fundraiser was staged at Fairhope Brewery near Mobile earlier this year.
