Fans of both the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers went home empty handed. Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly completed a deflected sixty six yard touchdown pass to help the Rebels beat the Bama 43-37 on Saturday night. Ole Miss left the topsy-turvy game with their first victory in Bryant-Denny Stadium since 1988. The Rebels made two final defensive stands, the first when Tony Bridges intercepted a deep ball from Jake Coker, who came off the bench to lead a second-half comeback. Kelly delivered big play after big play after an ineffective first half, none wilder than a fling and a prayer in the third quarter, a 66-yard deflection caught by Quincy Adeboyejo for a touchdown.
LSU's Leonard Fournette ran for a career-high two hundred and twenty eight yards and three touchdowns, as his Tigers beat Auburn forty five to twenty one on Saturday. Fournette rested for much of the second half. That was perhaps the only thing preventing him from breaking Alley Broussard's single-game LSU rushing record of two hundred and fifty yards against Mississippi in 2004. Auburn’s Jeremy Johnson passed for one hundred yards and two touchdowns, but also threw his sixth interception this season and set up an LSU touchdown when he fumbled deep in Auburn territory. He was also sacked five times.
