U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Mo Brooks said he is better known by voters than he was when he ran for the Senate four years ago.
Brooks spoke at a rally for President Trump before rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol in January. He has maintained that Trump had nothing to do with the insurrection and that there was widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election, despite there being no evidence.
Brooks ran for the U.S. Senate four years and lost but is now running to fill Sen. Richard Shelby's seat when he retires in 2022. He is the second person to enter the race after former Trump ambassador Lynda Blanchard announced her bid in February.
