A state legislator and the founder of a conservative policy group are meeting in the runoff for the Republican nomination in Alabama's 6th congressional district.

Mobile residents have the option to vote for a deceased candidate in a municipal runoff election today.

The ballot lists two names for the District 2 seat on the Mobile City Council: former City Councilman William Carroll, and incumbent Levon Manzie. Manzie died last month, but his name is still on the ballot for Tuesday’s election.

Carroll will win if he receives the most votes, but if Manzie receives the most votes, a special election will be held.

Manzie died at the age of 38 on September. He was first elected to the council in 2013 and served until he passed away while campaigning for re-election.
