Detroit Mayor Looks to Boost City's Urban Core

"White flight" has hit hard at nearly every major American city, but black middle-class flight has left cities like Detroit teetering on financial ruin. Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is looking for ways to shoulder the burden while he works to revitalize the urban core. NPR's Ed Gordon speaks with Kilpatrick about his plans.
