MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Two court cases related to gambling are without judges to hear them. All qualified judges in Macon County have stepped aside from hearing a case involving the attorney general's seizure of gambling machines and cash during a raid at VictoryLand casino in February. The Alabama Supreme Court ordered the original judge on the case, Circuit Judge Tom Young, to step down. Court records show that every other judge in the county then recused himself from hearing the case. The only circuit judge in Greene County has recused himself from hearing a case involving the seizure of gambling machines from Greenetrack in 2011. Court records show Eddie Hardaway Jr. stepped aside at the request of the attorney general. The next step is for state court officials in Montgomery to find replacements.
