Huntsville, AL – There's word of fatalities in a school bus wreck this morning in Huntsville. A Huntsville City Schools spokesman says two students were killed. Keith Ward said more than 30 students were aboard the bus when it plunged off I-565, with most either taken to hospitals or treated at the scene. State Department of Education spokeswoman Brooke Thorington said seven students suffered life-threatening injuries. There are conflicting reports on the extent of injuries to the driver. The bus veered off an interstate and crashed below an overpass. Wendell Johnson, a Huntsville police spokesman, estimated the bus plunged 30 feet from the road to the crash site. He said the bus was transporting Lee High School students who attend the Center for Technology in Huntsville. No word yet on what may have caused the crash.
