West Alabama State Fair
Paige Burleson
A fall chill is breezing through Tuscaloosa and so is the state fair. APR’s Paige Burleson reports about this year’s West Alabama State Fair.
The West Alabama State Fair is October 22nd through 31st at Sokol Park in Northport. This ten-day fair will include carnival rides, a petting zoo, a rodeo performance, entertainment, and fun food. The development coordinator, Nathan Craft, expects a bigger crowd than ever before to attend.
“This year it is ten days. It’s October 22nd through the 31st. I’m hoping we get-crossing our fingers- 30 to 40 thousand people out there this year.”
Craft says the fair is family fun for all ages and it also benefits the Tuscaloosa community through supporting local businesses and people who are disabled.
“For the past eight or nine years United Cerebral Palsy has hosted it. It’s our biggest fundraiser for the year. Every single dollar that we make feeds directly back into United Cerebral Palsy of West Alabama (UCPWA).”
