Winter’s nearly over, and that means summer music festival lineups are starting to circle the internet.

In Alabama, that means country fans will be planning to head to Cullman for Rock the South and most everybody else will be looking toward Hangout Fest in Gulf Shores.

But this year, Tuscaloosa is throwing its hat in the music festival ring for the first time in over a decade.

SantaCon is coming to town!

The annual pub crawl is a fundraiser and toy drive in which dozens of people dress up as Santa Claus and head out for a night on the town. This year's event will feature stops at seven Tuscaloosa bars. Event organizers say costumes are required to participate, and those taking part are strongly encouraged to bring an unwrapped and unopened toy for a toy drive.

Dozens of Santas took to the streets of Tuscaloosa this weekend for an event known as SantaCon.

The Santas followed a winding route to hit many of the city’s bars and microbreweries. But the main focus of the evening was on charity. The group donated hundreds of toys to Turning Point of West Alabama, an organization serving victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children. They also received donations of toiletries for the mothers at Turning Point.
