Commission Urges Court to Uphold Ruling

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – The Judicial Inquiry Commission is urging the Court of the Judiciary to stick with its decision to keep Attorney General Bill Pryor on the case against Chief Justice Roy Moore. Pryor will represent the Commission when Moore's judicial ethics trial begins next month. Moore faces charges for refusing to obey Federal Judge Myron Thompson's order to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the state judicial building rotunda. Moore has asked the Court of the Judiciary to remove Pryor from the case, saying the attorney general has legal conflicts that should prevent him from being involved. The court ruled against Moore's request last week, but he asked the judges to reconsider. The Judicial Inquiry Commission says Moore has offered no new arguments.
