Repubicans Enter Supreme Court Race

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL –
The Alabama Republican Party will have a contested primary election for the Alabama Supreme Court.
Jefferson County Probate Judge Mike Bolin entered the race yesterday for Place Three on the Supreme Court. He'll face Montgomery District Judge Peggy Givhan in the June First primary.
One Democrat, Circuit Judge John Rochester of Ashland, has registered for that seat, which is currently open.
Two other seats on the Supreme Court are up for election this year. No one has signed up yet to oppose Republican incumbent Jean Brown for Place One. Shelby County District Judge Patti Smith, a Republican, is the only candidate to officially enter the race for Place Two, which is also open.
