Guard Members Heading Home

By Alabama Public Radio

Alabama – Dozens of Alabama's military families will soon have their loved ones back at home.
Three Alabama Army National Guard units are expected to return from duty in Iraq during the next three to four months. Guard spokesperson Norman Arnold says 125 soldiers assigned to the 226th Area Support Group of Mobile could be back within two weeks. The 226th was placed on active duty 12 months ago. Two other south Alabama units also are slated for a return home.
165 soldiers with the Fairhope-based 11-65th Military Police Company are expected back by mid-April. 125 soldiers with the 161st Area Support Medical Battalion are expected to return sometime in May.
