Tests Show Too Much PCB from Incinerator

By Alabama Public Radio

Anniston, AL – Tests show the Army's chemical weapons incinerator in Anniston discharged too many PCBs from its stack during trial burns. Westinghouse, which operates the incinerator, says the emissions were tiny and well within safety standards. But the Environmental Protection Agency wants more testing. Officials are trying to determine the source of the additional P-C-Bs. It is unclear whether the problem could cause the incinerator to shutdown.
