Montgomery, AL – A number of major changes were proposed to Alabama hunting laws over the weekend during a meeting of the state Conservation Advisory Board.
The advisory board voted to legalize the use of crossbows for hunting during the deer gun and archery seasons, and to legalize the use of turkey decoys. The board also voted in favor of allowing the use telescopic sights on muzzleloaders, and to expand the muzzleloader season by two days. It also voted to create a three-way split season for doves.
The recommendations will now be sent to the state Conservation Commissioner for final approval.
