Former AG Pryor Has Political Victory

By Alabama Public Radio

Atlanta, GA – Bill Pryor has a victory over political opponents. U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy lost a bid to block the former Alabama Attorney General's appointment to the federal appeals court in Atlanta. Pryor's fellow judges actually turned down the Massachusetts Democrat's motion to argue that the appointment was unconstitutional, saying the motion was untimely. President Bush installed Pryor on the bench in February, stopping a Democratic filibuster in the Senate and using the power of a recess appointment. But in his motion, Kennedy claimed Bush did not use a true recess appointment.
