House Personal Wealth Reports Released

By Alabama Public Radio

Washington, D.C. – The personal wealth reports of U.S. House members were released Wednesday. Birmingham Democrat Artur Davis reported the fewest assets among Alabama's seven-member delegation, but he also made the most trips last year funded by special interests. He made a total of 18 trips in 10 months. Davis listed no assets beyond his almost 155-thousand dollar House salary. Meanwhile...Republican Terry Everett of Enterprise appears to be the wealthiest Alabama congressman. Besides his House salary, he owns a 400-acre Houston County farm valued between 500-thousand-and one million dollars, as well as municipal bonds and stock in, among other things, Union Springs Newspapers.
