Pryor Testifies in Siegelman Hearing

By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – Federal Judge Bill Pryor made history Thursday during a hearing. Pryor testified on the federal government's attempt to disqualify former U-S Attorney Doug Jones from representing former Governor Don Siegelman on bid-rigging charges. Federal Judge U.W. Clemon presided at the hearing. He said it was one of the few times in history where a federal district judge questioned a federal appellate judge. Pryor was the state attorney general before being appointed to the bench in February. He says his office began the investigation of Tuscaloosa physician Phillip Bobo in 1999 that eventually led to Siegelman's May indictment.
