Noble, GA – A north Georgia crematory operator accused of failing to burn hundreds of bodies could avoid a criminal trial under a new deal negotiated with prosecutors. Reports say that under the deal, Ray Brent Marsh would receive a 75-year sentence. He'd serve only 12 years in prison and could become eligible for parole after about four years. Marsh faces almost 800 criminal charges that stemmed from the discovery of more than 300 decaying bodies at the Tri-State Crematory in Noble, Georgia. Many funeral homes in Alabama used Marsh's services. The reported plea deal must still be approved by the courts.
