Severe Weather Hits Northwest Alabama

Florence, AL – Severe weather did rumble through northwest Alabama Monday, leaving at least three people injured when a tornado touched down in Lauderdale and Colbert Counties. Emergency Management officials say the two adults and one two-year-old boy were injured when the tornado destroyed their mobile home in Lauderdale County. That twister was reported shortly after 4 p-m...it moved from the Florence area into the Riverton community...then west of Cherokee and on across the state line into Tennessee. Authorities also say several buildings were damaged or destroyed, and trees were uprooted.
