Montgomery, AL – Officials from the Alabama Department of Homeland Security will meet with representatives of the secretary of state's office Wednesday to discuss suggestions for Election Day safety. The federal government is warning of possible terror strikes around the time of the Presidential election, and state officials say that's why Alabama voters may notice a few subtle changes on Election Day. For example, poll workers will likely sit near precinct entrances, so anyone walking inside is identified quickly. Some communities are also planning extra police patrols on November second, and others are making sure poll workers have phones available in case of an emergency. Officials also say they want to make sure to have adequate security, but they don't want to scare away any voters.
